Welcome to the Cardiff Stars Tennis Club

Cardiff Stars was formed nearly 14 years ago and is unique in being the only stand-alone tennis club in the UK for people with learning disabilities. It is entirely funded from donations, sponsorship and the fund raising efforts of the committee.

The aim of the club is to provide the opportunity for children and adults with learning disabilities to play tennis, to give them a feeling of achievement, self esteem and also feel part of the community. We passionately believe that sport is for everyone and if you have a disability you should be given the chance to participate.

Since 2001 our club has provided a tennis playing facility for over 2000 players of all abilities. Everyone reaches their potential whatever that might be, from ball skills to medal success representing Wales at the Special Olympics.

Cardiff Stars has had a successful relationship with Cardiff Lawn Tennis Club and its members for more than ten years and we are grateful for their continued support. We also benefit from indoor facilities for our winter tennis sessions which have been based at Virgin Active Cardiff.

We are delighted that this year Cardiff Stars has been awarded the In-sport Blue ribbon award (Club Mark Phase 1) by Disability Sport Wales.

Over the years Cardiff Stars members, coaches and volunteers have won many awards, but to us they are all winners.
